Ray Dalio’s Principles presents a remarkably rigorous concept: “View yourself as a small machine running within a larger machine.”

To most people, this sounds cold and dehumanizing; but for a full-stack developer beginner, it is practically the perfect “field manual.” In the era of algorithmic penetration in 2026, if we don’t establish an iterative set of “personal principles,” we will lose our way amidst fragmented feedback.

I. The Decision Loop: Engineering Life

I often emphasize in my retrospective reviews that the source of system stability isn’t “avoiding errors,” but rather “the ability to handle them.”

Dalio’s framework is essentially a robust decision loop (Feedback Loop):

  1. Goals: Define your 2026 annual vision.
  2. Problems: Identify bugs in reality (e.g., paralysis by analysis, cognitive biases).
